Welcome to my Website

Why do I write e-books?

I started writing in Junior School and I have never really stopped. Reading my early efforts later made me cringe. I never thought I would be able to write a whole book until I found a way round running out of ideas in chapter three. My breakthrough was to write a series of short stories and then link them with a common theme. This led to my first book, A Night in the Manx Museum (Published well before the film.)

I tried the traditional publishing route and had some interest, but it never came to anything until an agent, who became a publisher, and never did anything for me at all, appeared. It cost me time and effort to break that contract and I have been very wary ever since.

Besides, I dislike waste. Boxes of paperbacks piled in a garage sucks. E-books are immediate, can be easily corrected if necessary and are good for the environment. You also receive more in royalties. What's not to love?

One of my characters speaks...

My name is Renny...

You will find my story in Michele's book, Manannan's Magic. My name means Fern in my native language and one day I was hiding among the ferns when the stranger sailed into the bay. He was tall and dressed in odd clothing. He was not one of the islanders and, even from the first, I recognised the power that hung about him like a cloak. I did not know then that he would change my life or that of my people until the hunters came after him. His name and his deeds have passed into legend, even in my lifetime. The man I knew would laugh if he could hear the tales that are spun about his name by the bards. Perhaps he is laughing now, as he wanders through the green hills of his own home. I hope so. I owe him so much and I still love him deeply.

Beta Readers are very helpful to authors.

They pick up faults in both the

They see books before they are published for free.
